Support Japan Relief

On March 11, Japan was rocked by one of the most powerful earthquakes in history and a monster tsunami wave, which swallowed up everything in its path. Having family and friends in Japan, it was heartbreaking to wake up to that news, watching the news coverage, and waiting to hear from everyone and feeling helpless at the same time. I was relieved to learn that my relatives were alright. But there are so many people that aren't as fortunate. The situation over in Japan is so terrible, many people are displaced in the cold weather with their homes have been destroyed, they are low on food, water, and daily necessities. It is truly heartbreaking to see.

I want to help support Japan relief after that terrible earthquake/tsunami. So I will be donating 15% of all sales at the Cuddly Crew to the Red Cross's Japan Earthquake & Pacific Tsunami Fund. Enchanted Potions Fundraiser & More News

Crystal Miller is the wonderful owner of Enchanted Potions. Her son Nicholas has been chosen to represent his school at the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington DC next year in the spring. They are trying to raise money so they can send Nicholas to this wonderful opportunity so we are running a fundraiser at Enchanted Potions with our Travelscents. Here is the information. If you have a little money to spare, please help us raise the funds and purchase a Travelscent, they're only $2.99.

Enchanted Potions is one of the sponsors raising money to send Nicholas Miller to Washington D.C. in the spring of 2011 to represent his school at the Junior National Young Leaders Conference. Nicholas' parents are unable to fund any portion of the trip and need our help. 100% of the income from every sale of our travelscents will be donated to this fund.

I'm Back...Happy & Married

Hope everyone is having a wonderful month. Sorry for being silent for a bit, but I'm back. Last month was a hectic but great month. All of our planning, brainstorming, and ideas for the perfect wedding finally came to life. It was our wedding day on Saturday, May 15. We had our wedding at the Ivy Room in downtown Chicago, the ceremony was outside in their beautiful ivy-covered courtyard, then we went inside for the fun reception. Our friends and family came out to celebrate with us, even from as far as Japan. All the stressing I did was worth it. Autumn Magic ~ Add a little magic to your holiday season! Autumn magic fragrance begins with top notes of butterscotch and butter rum; with middle notes of cinnamon and meringue; and base notes of vanilla extract and confectioners sugar.

Cafe Mocha ~ Fresh brewed coffee, chocolate syrup, creamy vanilla, and marshmallows.

Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake ~ Cardamom, ground cinnamon, Vermont maple, pumpkin puree, carrot, whipped cream, rum, cream cheese, caramelized sugar, and French vanilla blended to true perfection!

Treat Yourself to a Mini-Vacation & Reduce Stress!

Most of us lead fairly hectic lives dealing with family, home, jobs, finances, etc. We could all use a little time to ourselves - i.e. a mini-vacation. There are several ways we can escape for our vacation.

Some of my favorites are listed below:

1. Nature Walk! Get out of the house and experience nature. Take a walk in the woods or through the park and note all the sounds of the birds and animals and even the wind. Close your eyes and let yourself get lost in the beautiful sounds of nature.

2. Exercise! Exercise is one of the best stress relievers there is. Walking, aerobics, dancing, or whatever form of exercise you choose has many more benefits also.

3. Read a Book! Escape to another time and place! When you are ready come back to your world.

4. Call a Friend! A stimulating conversation with a friend can erase a lot of stress. Better yet, if you can, go visit them for awhile.

5. Soak in the Tub! Although this is not one of my favorites, I know it helps a lot of people. Let the water wash away all the tension and stress!

6. Exercise your Mind! Do some crossword puzzles, play some Mahjong, or solve some riddles. Exercising your mind can be surprisingly relaxing!

7. Sneak Away with your Spouse! Find a private spot anywhere in the house or outside. Take some time to really talk and just enjoy the pleasure of each other's company.

8. Travel the World! Go to a nice quiet spot and let your mind wander to anywhere in the world. Daydream the stress away. You should also be taking some nice, deep cleansing breaths.

9. Stretch the Stress Away! Even if it is only for 10-15 minutes. Walk around the house, stretch your muscles, do a few neck and back stretches. These can do wonders!

10. Just relax! Turn everything off, make yourself a cup of coffee, cocoa, or just plain water. Just sit in complete silence and watch the birds outside or put a cool cloth over your eyes. Let your mind go blank for awhile. Forget everything and just relax!

11. Have some fun! Put on some of your favorite music and dance around the house for awhile. Let loose and have some fun. Act goofy, crazy or waltz yourself to China. This helps get out some of the frustrations and pent up emotions that can cause stress!

Some of the above methods are great for reducing stress. If you have something that works better for you, by all means, try to do it everyday! We all need to take more mini-vacations!

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a great month. I just spent a nice, relaxing “vacation” in Colorado visiting the family. It was a great time. Meow Mix
1 (12 ounce) bag chocolate chips
1 (12 ounce) bag butterscotch chips
1/2 cup butter
1 (15 ounce) box Cheerios toasted oat cereal
1 (1 lb) box powdered sugar

Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips together with butter over low heat, stirring until blended. Pour over Cheerios and mix until evenly coated.

Pour powdered sugar into large paper grocery bag. Pour in the coated cheerios. Close bag tightly and shake well.

Kiddie Kitty Meow Mix
3 cups crispy corn puff cereal
1 1/2 cups thin pretzel sticks, broken in half
2 (6-ounce) packages (3 1/2 cups) original fish-shaped snack crackers
1/2 cup LAND O LAKES® Margarine
1 (11.5-ounce) package (1 1/2 cups) milk chocolate chips (We recommend NESTLÈ® TOLL HOUSE® Morsels)
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Combine cereal, pretzels and snack crackers in 4-quart bowl; set aside.

Place margarine and chips in medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH for 45 seconds; stir. Continue microwaving, stirring every 30 seconds, until mixture is smooth, if needed. Stir in peanut butter until smooth.

Immediately pour chocolate mixture over cereal in bowl; stir until well coated. Spread onto waxed paper; cool until chocolate is firm (about 30 minutes). Break into bite-sized pieces.

Divide cereal evenly among three (1-gallon) resealable plastic food bags. Spoon 1/2 cup powdered sugar into each bag; close bag. Shake bag until mixture is well coated. Store in sealed bags or airtight containers.

Fragrance Updates

Hey everyone, hope you are all having a great month of March so far. This is a short newsletter with just a few updates.

Coming soon… We have a few scents that will be coming soon created by our own Enchanted Potions reps. Be sure to try them out and see if you have a new favorite.

Wildberry Zinger Tea ~ A Berry Delicious blend of black raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, red raspberries, cranberries, and cherries! Herbs like hibiscus, rosehips, and chicory make this scent a Zinger!

Vanilla Grapefruit ~ A BBW duplicate combining the sweet scent of Vanilla with the sharp citrus sweetness of Grapefruit.

Tuberose ~ This is a creamy floral scent with a Tropical twist.

Fall Bazaar

Delightfully Enchanting!
Ok, so we were sent some of the most wonderful items to test from my great new friend Yuki, a representative for Enchanted Potions and owner of The Cuddly Crew.

The Starlight Vanilla Honey Skin Revitalizer is some of the most AMAZING bath goodness I have ever had the pleasure of trying. When you get ready to use it, you need to shake it up because it will be separated and look like lotion on the top and honey in the bottom. Shake it up to re-mix (easy peasy) and pour a little into your running bath water just like you would a bubble bath. Slide into the tub (careful, it's slippery) and soak up the delectable goodness. Oh my gosh I am NOT kidding. My legs were so soft and silky. You are literally taking soak in lotion (combined with other goodies of course)! What could be better than that?!?!?!

Nothing, I say! And the scent is so light and pleasant. It doesn't overpower your senses, so you can just sit and relax. Sooooooo good!

Eucalyptus Solar Sea Salt
Ok, I did NOT get to test this in the bath yet. :0(We were in the process of moving and I packed it in the wrong box and didn't find it until today so it is going into testing on Wednesday and I will report back here next week.

Cosmic Body Lotion in Pink Sugar (type) Fragrance
Anything that smells like Cotton Candy has to be good right? This lotion was no exception. It is light and rubs in wonderfully. The fragrance is strong enough to last all day without triggering my migraines and that is one HUGE plus in my book. Silky and smooth and left my skin soft. This lotion rubbed in very easily and didn't leave my hands feeling greasy. It contains a lot of extracts like honey, lemon, etc. As a reviewer, I do have to mention that it does have methylparaben and propylparaben (common preservatives) which some naturalists veer away from for various and understandable reasons, but in my testing it performed extremely well. A definite thumbs up on the lotion.

Smelly Jelly Air Freshener In Citrus Julep Fragrance
YUMMY! I got a SERIOUS craving for those little Orange Slices Candies after smelling this. You know, the ones that are like a jelly bean only covered in granulated sugar? Yup! Smells just like it with a hint of julep goodness. I didn't hold up well in our new house which is rather open and quite spacious but in our old house, which is smaller, it scented the room quite nicely. I am going to place it in the bathroom and give it another good testing because I have a feeling it will work wonderfully in there. I could definitely smell it when I passed by or if it was placed near a ceiling fan or air vent, but in the new house, it just had a little trouble holding up to the size of the rooms. Check back when we post the Sea Salt review because I am re posting on this as well!!!

Dryer Sachet in Angel Wings Fragrance
OOOHHHHHH These things are A-W-E-S-O-M-E! I have been doing boo coos of laundry this week and let me tell ya, this sachet has been put to good use. The Angel Wings (type) scent has a soft and wonderful baby powder fragrance and when you put it in the dryer and it gets warm, it scents your laundry very nicely. Some of the clothes were already clean but just needed some refreshing so I threw them in on fluff with the sachet and they smell, 'like an angel' (no pun intended). Buy some of these, you'll LOVE them!!!! And $2 bucks is an awesome deal!

What can I say? Our daughter loves this soap! Not only does she get to smell like mommy in the Pink Sugar (type) fragrance but she has her very own little soap that she doesn't have to share with her brother! :0) Thank you so much Yuki for including her in the testing. This is a glycerin soap and one that actually lathers pretty well. Not to mention it is absolutely darling! It is a little round soap with an 'X and O' embedded inside. Smells great, lathers great and washes dirt and grime off my daughter and right down the drain!

Soap making can be a fun activity for the whole family. Here are some wonderful soap recipes for you to try out. And if you need supplies, be sure to check out the Bath & Body section at the Cuddly Crew. Enjoy!

Lemon cheesecake soap loaf

250g transparent M&P
500g Opaque M&P
Lemon Scent
Yellow colouring
Oatmeal or Porridge Oats
1 x Medium sized Loaf mold (1 kilo capacity)

1. Melt white soap base and add a few drops of yellow coloring or powder until you get the right lemon color.
2. Add your fragrance
3. Pour into your mold and spray with alcohol to remove all bubbles
4. Allow to set
5. Melt your transparent soap base and add as much Oatmeal as the base will allow to still be ever so slightly runny
6. Spray your loaf again with alcohol before pouring/spreading the oatmeal mixture into your mold
7. Flatten off the top and allow to cool
8. Once it's turned out your loaf will look like a lemon cheesecake and smell divine. The oatmeal will be a great exfoliator too.

If you wanted to get fancy, you could add a third layer of white between the yellow and the oatmeal base, or even whip up your yellow base so it was fluffy.

Tea Tree and Linseed Soap Loaf

1 Kilo of Transparent Melt & Pour soap base
Tea Tree Essential Oil
Green Coloring
50g of Linseeds
1 x Medium sized Loaf mold (1 kilo capacity)
1 x Ready made bar of Dark Green M&P soap (use the basic recipe for melt and pour)

1. Divide your soap base into 3 equal parts
2. Melt one part with no added color or scent
3. Stir in your linseeds and pour into the mold
4. Spray with alcohol to remove bubbles
5. Allow to set
6. Melt your second part and add green coloring and your tea tree oil
7. Spray your mold with alcohol and pour in the green base
8. Allow to set
9. Grate up your bar of green soap
10. Melt your third part of base
11. Mix in the green grated shreds
12. Spray your mold with alcohol
13. Pour in to the mold

This mixture makes a really eye catching loaf and the linseeds are great for exfoliating while adding an interesting feature.

Banana Slice Soaps (Makes 4 bars)

150g Transparent Melt and Pour base
350g Opaque Melt and Pour base
Yellow coloring
Banana Scent
Dried Banana Chips
4 x soap bar molds (Square or rectangular)

1. Place your banana chips over the base of each mold. You should be able to fit in 3 or four of these. Make sure they are flat on the bottom and do not overlap or stick out.
2. Melt your clear base
3. Carefully pour in ever such a tiny amount of the base so as to just cover the chips.
4. Spray with alcohol to remove bubbles
5. Allow to set
6. Melt your opaque base and add your scent and yellow coloring until it is a nice banana color
7. Spray your molds with alcohol
8. Pour in and allow to set

When you turn these out the chips should be visible in a thin layer of clear on top of a lovely banana looking base. Great fun for kids and really popular at fairs. These are my biggest seller. You may need to adjust the amount of M&P you use depending on your mold size, but practice makes perfect.
